Tylurs Physiotherapy is a physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic, and Tylurs com is its home online. We help people with pain, injuries and movement problems get back to the things that matter to them, whether that is a full night’s sleep, a pain-free working day, a return to sport or simply walking to the shops with confidence.
This page explains why the clinic exists, what we believe and how we work, so you know what to expect before you book.
Who we are
Tylurs com (tyllurs.com) is owned and operated by Tylurs Physiotherapy, the physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic behind this website. Every appointment, treatment plan and article on this site comes from the same team of qualified physiotherapists, so the advice you read here is the advice you will get in the clinic.
We treat adults with muscle, joint, nerve and sports-related problems, people recovering from surgery, and older adults who want to stay strong and steady on their feet.
Our story: why Tylurs Physiotherapy exists
A short, rushed appointment, a photocopied sheet of exercises and very little explanation of what is actually wrong can leave anyone unsure whether they are doing the right thing. When that happens, it is easy to lose confidence and stop before you have fully recovered.
At Tylurs com, we set out to offer something different. We believe good physiotherapy starts with listening, gives you a clear explanation and a plan you understand, and ends with you feeling able to look after yourself. Everything about how the clinic runs, from appointment length to how we write our exercise programmes, is designed around that idea.
Our mission
Our mission is to help you move with less pain and more confidence, understand what is happening in your body, and stay well for the long term.
That means treating the problem in front of us and also looking at what caused it and what might bring it back. It means setting goals that are meaningful to you rather than to a textbook. And it means measuring success by what you can do at the end of treatment, not by how many sessions you attended.
The values that guide us
- Listen first. Your story is the most important part of your assessment. We give you time to explain it fully.
- Be honest. We tell you what we think is going on, how long recovery is likely to take and whether physiotherapy is the right option. If it is not, we say so and help you find the right person.
- Follow the evidence. We use treatments that are backed by research and current guidance, not passing trends.
- Respect every patient. You are treated with dignity and courtesy, and your choices about your care are respected.
- Build independence. Our aim is for you to need us less over time, with the skills and confidence to manage on your own.
What we do: our clinical approach
We offer sports injury rehabilitation, back and neck pain treatment, post-surgery rehabilitation, neurological physiotherapy, manual therapy and balance and falls prevention.
World Physiotherapy describes the role of physiotherapists as developing, maintaining and restoring people’s movement and function. Our approach puts that into practice through four principles.
Assessment first
We never start treatment without understanding the problem. Your first appointment includes a detailed history and physical examination, along with screening for anything that needs a doctor’s attention. We explain our findings in plain English and agree a plan with you.
Evidence-based care
Our physiotherapists base treatment on current research and national guidance, and adapt it to your circumstances. We are open about what the evidence shows, including when a popular treatment is unlikely to help.
One-to-one sessions
Your appointment is spent with your physiotherapist, not shared with other patients or handed over to an assistant partway through. That time lets us adjust treatment as we go and answer your questions properly.
Active rehabilitation
Hands-on techniques such as those used in our manual therapy sessions can ease pain and stiffness, but lasting progress usually comes from what you do between appointments. Every plan includes exercise and advice tailored to your goals, from sports injury rehabilitation to balance and falls prevention. The World Health Organization notes that rehabilitation helps people be as independent as possible in everyday activities, and that is the aim of every plan we write.
Our team of physiotherapists
Every physiotherapist on our team is fully qualified and registered with the relevant professional regulator. Registration means each clinician must meet the regulator’s standards of conduct, performance and ethics, and keep their skills up to date.
Learning does not stop at qualification. Our physiotherapists take part in ongoing professional development, including courses, reading, case discussions and peer review, so their skills keep pace with new research. When a problem falls outside physiotherapy, we work with your GP, surgeon or other specialists and refer you on when that is the right step.
If you are a physiotherapist who shares these values, take a look at our careers page.
Patient safety and standards
Feeling safe and comfortable is essential to good care. At every appointment, you can expect:
- Consent. We explain what each part of the assessment or treatment involves and ask for your permission first. You can ask questions, decline anything or stop at any time.
- Chaperones. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member, or ask us to arrange a chaperone for any appointment.
- Hygiene. Treatment areas and equipment are cleaned between patients, and we follow good infection-control practice.
- Confidentiality. Your health information is stored securely and shared only with your permission or where the law requires it. Our privacy policy sets out what we record and who can see it.
Sharing what we know
Good advice should not only be available in the treatment room. Our physiotherapists write practical articles for our physiotherapy blog, covering topics such as what to expect at your first physiotherapy appointment, desk stretches for office workers and whether to use ice or heat after an injury. Each article is reviewed by a member of our clinical team and links to trusted sources.
Trusted health resources we follow
Our advice is built on independent, evidence-based guidance. These are the organisations whose information we use and recommend to patients:
- NHS health A to Z: plain-English guidance on symptoms and treatments.
- NICE guidelines: the clinical guidance behind how back pain and sciatica are managed.
- World Health Organization: rehabilitation: why rehabilitation matters at every age.
- World Physiotherapy: the global body representing the physiotherapy profession.
